School District Spending Report Now Available!

How does your school district spend your tax dollars? How does it compare to other districts?

The Utah Taxpayers Association annually calculates per student spending for all forty Utah school districts. Our calculations are based on raw data from the annual financial reports submitted by each school district to the Utah State Office of Education. Our report includes district-by-district information on

  • Enrollment
  • Expenditures per student
    • Instructional
    • Administration
    • Transportation
    • Facility operation
    • Student services
    • Capital and debt service
    • Total
  • Percent of operation costs allocated for instruction
  • Pupil-teacher ratios
  • Teachers as a percent of total personnel
  • Property tax rates
