Re: Proposed Tax Increase

Daggett County is proposing a 96% increase over the certified property tax rate. This tax increase was approved last December, and state law requires counties that are increasing property taxes to conduct a Truth-in-Taxation hearing in December and in August. The impact of the proposed tax increase is as follows:

Property   $150,000 Valuation   $300,000 Valuation
Residence*   $143.96 increase   $287.93 increase
 Business   $261.75 increase   $523.50 increase
* Residences receive a 45% exemption under state law. Business properties receive no exemptions.
