Re: Proposed Bond Election
On Tuesday, June 28th, voters in Iron School District will be asked to approve or reject a $23.5 million bond to finance
The Utah Taxpayers Association recognizes Iron School District is experiencing massive student growth. The need for schools to accommodate that growth is being dealt with in a fiscally responsible way by doing the following:
Tax impact of $23.5 million bond
Property Type |
$100,000 Valuation |
$200,000 Valuation |
Residential* |
$33.17 increase |
$66.34 |
Business |
$60.30 increase |
$120.60 |
* Primary residences receive a 45% exemption.
The district bases property tax estimates on a tax base growth rate of 2.2%, although projected growth rates are much higher (4%-5%) Consequently, the tax impact will likely be lower than the projected 8.2% increase over the existing certified rate.
The bond election will be held on Tuesday, June 28th, from 7am to 8pm .
Please make copies and distribute them to other voters in the district.
